Global Switch ParisAshford undertook the commissioning and water treatment on behalf of Global Switch at the converted BIC Pen factory in Clichy, Paris.  Seven roof mounted closed circuit evaporative coolers capable of rejecting 20 MW of heat serve the building via a 600mm diameter ring main which feeds all levels via flow and return risers at each end of the building.  Each floor is provided with 100% back-up by on floor pump rooms and dual 300 mm diameter ring mains.  The Landlords services were relatively easy to flush and clean using the installed pumps, however, fit-out of the 6th floor for Level 3 Communications presented a number of issues as the contract prevented use of installed pumps.  Temporary diesel driven pumps were utilised to achieve flowrates in excess of 100 litres per second.  The pump was sited externally with 8 inch flexible hoses run up purpose built scaffolding to connect to the ring mains on the 6th floor.  Windows and doors had to be temporarily removed to facilitate the process.  Many projects have since been successfully completed using temporary pumps.
