BSI UKAS ISO 9001:2008In early 2009 we decided to formalise our management system and bring it into line with current thinking. Although a very good system, it had developed organically over our thirteen year history and lacked the cogency required of a modern day, forward looking organisation such as ours. In June we carried out a review with the help of an external consultant, resulting in an ambitious six month programme for achieving registration being instituted.
We chose the British Standards Institute as our accreditation body and after a “desktop” review (stage one assessment) in November, they carried out a full review of our systems (stage two assessment) in December 2009.
The four day review took in both the Staines office and a couple of sites, primarily the Royal London Hospital (RLH) project. The Christmas break slowed the review process, however, in January 2010 we received confirmation of our certification.
Achieving quality assured status to the latest guidelines builds on the development work done earlier in the year where Ashford secured CHAS Accreditation and SafeContractor Approval.
We would like to thank all our staff for their efforts in making this happen, particularly Mark Todd and his team at RHL and Uzma Ahmed and Jim Rees at the Staines office.
