New Health and Safety Man!

Pete Richards has recently been appointed as our in-house Health and Safety Representative. He will be undergoing training to obtain formal
qualifications with the aim of taking over all H & S matters for the Company.

Pete has been with Ashford for some four years now, but been in the industry for considerably longer and is relishing the opportunity. Pete said, “With so much emphasis being placed on health and safety in all aspects of our lives, Ashford is certainly doing the right thing! I am very much looking forward to the challenge”.

You will be seeing Pete regularly from now on, as he will be visiting your site to carry out toolbox talks. We are also planning off site training and awareness sessions.

All issues concerning H & S and in particular, any accidents, near misses, etc., should be reported immediately to Pete so that he can ensure the
necessary paperwork, procedures and investigations are carried out.

PETE RESPONDS TO HIS NEW ROLE

Obviously it will take a little while to get all things up and running smoothly but we have already made a start. We have put together a biocide PPE dosing pack; this consists of full face protection (goggles and attached visor ), disposable overall, gauntlets and apron, and is designed to be worn with our existing PPE.

At the time of writing this, the equipment has been ordered, so now you are reading it, I should be arranging to visit your job to deliver it to you! If you haven’t heard from me by the time you receive the Newsletter give me a call!

I will continue to make my way around the jobs and should see you all on a regular basis. I’m still in the process of setting up site files for each job, ensuring that we have all got copies of signed method statements and risk assessments and that all of our steps/podiums are suitable, tagged and inspected on a weekly basis.

If anyone has any issues then give me a call and we’ll see what we can do.

Remember - Safety is No Accident!

Pete Richards
